FAQ’S

  • The client's skin is cleansed, and the therapist and client wear eyeglasses to protect the eyes from the bright light. Next, a small handpiece delivers a pulse of laser light to the skin of the treatment area. The client will feel a light coolant spray on the skin immediately before each laser pulse. Depending on the treatment area, treatment can take a few minutes to an hour.

  • Immediately after treatment, there will be redness and swelling, and the area will feel like a mild sunburn. After your treatment, your therapist will apply a cool compress or aloe vera gel to soothe any redness or swelling. This swelling should resolve within a few hours but sometimes lasts two to three days.

  • The number of sessions depends on the treatment you require and condition of your skin. For laser hair removal, hair reduction is noticeable after one treatment, but because hair grows in cycles, not all hair is affected in one treatment. Most clients require 3-8 treatments, about 6-8 weeks apart. Other clients only need 1-3 treatments.

  • Hair removal clients should avoid plucking, electrolysis or waxing for six weeks before treatment. If you have a history of herpes simplex virus (cold sores), you should take prophylactic antiviral therapy as usual. Skin should be clean-shaven and thoroughly cleansed, removing any makeup, creams, oils, topical anaesthetics, or self-tanning products before laser treatment.

Avoid the sun 4-6 weeks before and after treatment. Clients who are actively tan or sunburned must re-schedule their treatment session. Additionally, you cannot be treated if you have a spray or artificial tan. Fake tan can take two to three weeks to fade completely.

  • Sun exposure after treatment can increase the risk of hyperpigmentation, so we recommend sun avoidance and using a broad-spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen SPF 30 or higher. In addition, during the first few days after treatment, do not scrub or rinse the treated areas with abrasive skin cleansers.
